The group is interested in the properties of cyclic allene-ynes as hosts for small molecules and ions. The research host–guest recognition processes in highly symmetric macrocyclic species will benefit from the three aforementioned areas of expertise. The design of the host scaffolds will be tested and fine-tuned in silico, characterizing their molecular recognition properties and analyzing substitution trends..
